Since the start of the war in Ukraine, the demand for prosthetic hands has risen sharply. Researcher Gerwin Smit of the Technical University of Delft has developed a hand prosthesis that can be manufactured by combining 3D printing and laser cutting. This makes it possible to produce the necessary prostheses at a lower cost.
